National Day Celebration at SR Pehin Dato Jamil

On Saturday, 26^th February 2012, to commemorate the celebration of Brunei's National Day, SR Pehin Dato Jamil celebrated the event in the school foyer area this morning. Students from all levels made several performance to honor the celebration of independence day. Patriotic songs were sang, poems were recited including pantun as well with high spirit which shows how much the students were enjoying themselves celebrating this event together with their schoolmates. The celebration began since the beginning of the week which include students placing mini flags on their tables, quizzes being held during morning assembly as well as recital of Yaasin. In addition, drawing and coloring contest were also being held and the winners receive their prizes during this morning's celebration event. 

Maulud Nabi celebration at SR Pehin Dato Jamil

On Wednesday, 8^th February 2012, to commemorate the celebration of Maulud Nabi, SR Pehin Dato Jamil invited a guest speaker from Pusat Da’wah Islamiah, Ustazah Hajah Rogayah binti Begawan Pehin Khatib Haji Wahid to give a religious talk to approximately 120 pupils from Year 5 and 6. The talk was based on this year’s Maulud Nabi celebration theme – Ukhuwah, Muafakat Negara Berkat. The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Ustaz Jaharnor bin Haji Rungging.

Numerous school activities were conducted to honor the celebration of Maulud Nabi. These included quizzes and Dikir recitation which had been done alternately during the school’s morning assembly over the last week. Students also participated in Jawi calligraphy as well as writing of short essays about the life of Nabi Muhammad S.A.W. Student actively enjoyed commemorated this significant religious event.
